STARTING in the studio: an onboarding process

In this module I created for a local ceramic studio, I digitize the process used to onboard new patrons of the studio by creating a virtual tour and course that teaches safety and etiquette guidelines. Course Goal:

Through an interactive virtual tour and online learning module, patrons who are new to the ceramic studio will gain an introduction to the layout of the studio space as well as the safety and etiquette guidelines they are expected to follow. Using this course, patrons are able to remotely access the same information they would receive in the on-site training that is required before their first studio session. While patrons are still encouraged to schedule an on-site visit prior to their session, they are largely unburdened by the obligation to receive and retain a wealth of information. Instead, the visit reaffirms the knowledge and understanding gained through the course.

Audience:

  • Ceramic studio staff and patrons

Tools Used:

  • Chameleon Creator

  • Adobe Photoshop

  • Kuula Virtual Tour Software

In developing this course, I collaborated with the head studio technician and staff to evaluate the accuracy and viability of the content as well as make revisions.
